General Purpose
On Monday, February 24, 1992, the City of Spokane passed Ordinance C-30338, establishing the Spokane Bicycle Advisory Board.
The "general purpose" of the board is expressed in Ordinance C-30338:
The bicycle advisory board is established to provide advice and
direction to the city council and all departments and offices of the
City on matters relating to bicycling and to raise public awareness of
bicycling issues.
Our Goal
The Bicycle Advisory Board's goal is to make Spokane a more bicycle-friendly community. We want to increase opportunities for all citizens to enjoy the benefits of bicycling. Cities that are more favorable to cycling have healthier citizens, offer a better quality of life, and offer a richer economic foundation for businesses that locate within the "bikeable" areas of urban boundaries.
